In class students begin with a Personal Finance unit where they learn how to track transactions and reconcile a checking account. They will also learn about credit cards and the hidden cost of using them if they are not paid off monthly.
After that students are able to choose from 18 different career fields to actively learn the knowledge and skills used by those in the profession. Three weeks are spent on each career field. Most of class time is spent on hands-on activities that students perform in pairs. This helps students strengthen their creativity, critical thinking skills, communication skills, as well as team work and collaboration.
This class is like no other class students have ever taken! Students begin working before the bell rings each day. They are excited to learn and connect what they do in class to real life. Students of all levels make great achievements and growth in their learning while having a lot of fun.
